Recycling a Meme

My favorite flavor of cloud, as reflected in the hood of The Green Hornet...

... and in real-life.

We shall spend the greatest portion of our day under the awning... sipping a cool beer or three, occasionally puffing on a cigar, and reading Hemingway... punctuated with intermittent glances at the sky, of course.  Ah... Another Pleasant Valley Sunday.

Except we're not the least bit cynical about it.

  1. Football is on today, too! But I was a good and did chores and errands this morning -- including the first time of the season's raking of the leaves. Geez.

Ok, just ran in to see what you were up to.
Back to our regularly scheduled football programming. :)

  2. Football is on today, too!

Wrong. Just as wrong as two boys... (you finish the popular sayin'. In your mind. Coz this is a PG-13 blog.). There might be a reasonable facsimile of football on the tube on Sundays, but I think of it as the modern American equivalent of the shit that went on in the Colosseum back in Roman times. Bread and Circuses, and all that. *Football* is played on Saturdays.

Other than that... having a good Sunday? I am!

  3. Ah - sounds like what we did just a little more earth-focused. We spent the afternoon on our back deck, reading and gazing into the woods - and watching 6 deer (2 adults and 4 babies) graze the backyard next door. Peaceful. Serene.

    Like cloud watching.

  4. That hood SHINES. I can never get the truck that immaculate. Any secret besides gold old elbow grease?
What's even more impressive is darker colors show more flaws. Add in some NM dust and it's tough to look that sharp.

  5. I loved the Monkees, too. Still do. It was pleasant around here on Sunday too. We worked on the house.

  6. I listen to that song and pine for the neighborhood it's written about. I know that wasn't the intention, but that's how I've always listened to it. Great tune.

  7. Kris: Sounds like we both had great Sundays!

Anon: No secret. I think the REAL secret begins at the factory. The Miata has a great paint job, with the exception of the clear-coat bubbling on the rear bumper cap I mentioned a while back. Other than that? I was h her about every two weeks and wax her once a year... nuthin' special.

Jenny & Lou: I appreciate the Monkees more now than I did back in the '60s.

Jim: We feel the same way.

  8. Late to the party as usual.

I remember watching the Monkees show on TV after school. I'm sure I would find the shows to be corny today, but they were entertaining to a 7 year old boy.

Just be polite... that's all I ask.
